Enterprise Software is reshaping the enterprise software such drastic changes as anyone in its history. About a third of all workloads are now running in the cloud. Cloud computing has become the default application delivery paradigm for many organizations. Meanwhile, for employees and customers, mobile devices have become the medium of choice — always on hand and favored for business and personal tasks.

Artificial Intelligence (AI), on the other hand, is gaining popularity among companies for reshaping the enterprise software applications. Gartner expects that AI innovations will constitute 40 percent of new business applications deployed by service providers by 2021.

To understand how market applications are evolving today, and how they are likely to grow in the years ahead — let’s concentrate on these six main trends.

These trends should be considered by companies with plans for reshaping the enterprise software applications.

More and More Companies will Accept Conversational AI

Many market leaders and product managers are taking cues from digital giants investing heavily in deploying AI-powered conversational bots. Such businesses support AI to reduce running costs and reduce customer friction in making purchases. AI for conversational platforms leverages many ways of using natural language interfaces and cutting edge technologies. As rapid innovation occurs in AI, conversational platforms are developing the enormous potential to address enterprise customers’ needs. As more companies are accepting AI, it is helping companies in reshaping the enterprise software applications.

Using the Natural Language to Improve Business Intelligence

As the technology of AI and natural language processing (NLP) matures, the computer can begin to get better at interpreting the query. It will also start delivering answers rather than search results. The data chatbot will initially take more complicated questions and return data pages for you to analyze. But once it learns the semantic relations and the question’s inferences. It will be able to automatically perform the sorting and organizing needed to provide an intelligible response, rather than merely showing you data.

Since software ran on costly on-premise servers, employees cannot buy and supply software without going through the IT department. Employees may be able to sneak stand-alone applications into their desktop systems, but typically multi-user applications need access to a server and IT department approval and oversight.

Messaging is Becoming the New Norm of Online Communication

Messaging is already one of the most common mobile activities. The average US smartphone user spends almost 10 percent of its device time engaged in messaging (not including another 17 percent engaged on Facebook, close to messaging). The emergence of AI chatbots is charging by the growth of messaging platforms that have redefined service and business conversations. Chatbots are evolving as a tool for one-on-one discussions and are helping in reshaping the enterprise software applications.

Security and Compliance are in Integration into all Facets of Enterprise IT

As microservices replace monolithic applications and IT, decision-making becomes more decentralized and distributed, and companies must sustain their long-standing security and enforcement commitments. Replacing monolithic systems with more dynamic services written in different languages broadens organizations’ “attack surface” with other teams.
