The EnVisio Navigation System
The EnVisio™ Navigation System works by locating the precise coordinates of an embedded wireless SmartClip soft tissue marker that can be placed at the time of biopsy, or as a separate localization procedure. The SmartClip roughly the size of a grain of rice emits a unique signature that tells the surgeon exactly the precise location of the SmartClip. Surgeons and Radiologists can then define the tumor and desired margins for full removal. The ability to tell the surgeon the exact location of the tumor plus the margin are very valuable for removing cancer and other diseases or artifacts in soft tissues that often lack distinct anatomic landmarks, such as in the breast, lymph nodes, lung.
