Veterans Day stands as one of the nation’s most meaningful observances, a moment to express gratitude to the men and women who have worn the uniform and safeguarded our freedoms. At Millbrook, this annual reflection carries profound significance, not only because of our designation as a top-ranked Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), but because the values that define military service shape the very foundation of our organization.
A Tribute to Our Founder’s Legacy
This year, James Paterek and Millbrook proudly paid tribute to the extraordinary service of our founder, Andrew “Andy” Doro, MBA, a U.S. Army First Lieutenant whose military career exemplified courage, discipline, and devotion to his soldiers.
Andy’s service placed him directly on the front lines, where he led his platoon through intense combat operations. Despite sustaining life-threatening injuries that resulted in a 100 percent service-connected disability, he remained steadfast in his commitment to those he led and to the mission he served. His military decorations including the Silver Star, Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and Marksmanship Medals reflect a legacy defined by heroism and resilience.
Millbrook honored Veterans Day by recognizing Andy’s enduring impact on the company’s culture and mission. His example continues to guide our work, reminding our team that leadership grounded in integrity and selflessness has the power to transform lives long after military service concludes.
A Company Built to Serve Veterans
Honoring the contributions of veterans is not confined to a single day at Millbrook; rather, it is woven into our daily operations and long-term strategy. Through our partnerships with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Indian Health Service (IHS), and a range of federal healthcare programs, Millbrook plays a vital role in supporting the health and well-being of veterans nationwide.
James Paterek and the team at Millbrook work closely with facilities across the country to staff providers who deliver critical care to those who have served. From physicians and nurses to advanced practice clinicians, allied health professionals, and administrative leaders, Millbrook ensures that veterans have access to skilled healthcare professionals committed to excellence.
Veterans Strengthening Our Workforce
A defining aspect of Millbrook’s culture is the representation of veterans throughout our staff and provider network. Their discipline, leadership, and mission-focused mindset influence everything we do, shaping how we collaborate, how we support our clients, and how we approach every healthcare placement with precision and accountability.
This Veterans Day, Millbrook reaffirmed its commitment to providing career pathways that empower veterans to continue serving in meaningful ways. Whether transitioning from active duty or seeking new opportunities in civilian life, veterans at Millbrook find a supportive environment that values their skills and recognizes their contributions.
A Commitment Grounded in Gratitude
This year’s observance provided an opportunity for Millbrook to express sincere appreciation to veterans across the organization, among our clients, and throughout the communities we serve. Their sacrifices underpin freedoms we often take for granted, and their continued leadership enriches the workplaces and institutions they touch.
Millbrook remains committed to honoring that service not only with words but through action, partnership, opportunity, and a mission-driven approach to healthcare staffing.
