Nixin Swift

A journey that began eighteen years ago in the oil and gas sector took Nixin Swift, the founder of BizSync Solutions, to a position where he soon learnt that safety is culture, not paperwork; deadlines are real; and that credibility must be earned shift by shift. For him, entrepreneurship was never about titles; it was about responsibilities. Nixin’s entrepreneurial journey started with the outbreak of COVID-19, when safety roles disappeared overnight, projects stalled, and skilled professionals were sent home with no certainty of return. Instead of waiting for the market to recover, he built a solution: Remote Safety Consulting, Virtual Inspections, and Digital Compliance Systems. With an ambition to keep companies operational and crews employed, Nixin pivoted to establish what we know as BizSync Solutions.

From a Crisis Response to a Staffing Company

BizSync Solutions’ growth is attributed to three factors: experience, systems, and disciplined leadership. What began as a crisis response evolved into a multi-sector staffing and contracting company operating across oil and gas, utilities, high-rise conversions, industrial projects, and large-scale construction scopes. BizSync now deploys vetted HSE advisors, skilled labour, trade professionals, project managers, and full-scope support. Indigenous-owned and built from field experience, the company operates on one core belief: people are not disposable line items.

The Hardest Part of Leadership

According to Nixin, “Managing people is the hardest part of any job. You cannot copy-paste culture.” He believes that in high-pressure industries, technical knowledge is essential, but people determine outcomes: labor shortages, fast timelines, competing personalities, and regulatory complexities. For him, the greatest challenges have rarely been mechanical. They have been human.

Leading with Clarity

Nixin adopted a clear approach in his leadership: transparency over comfort, standards over shortcuts, and long-term trust over short-term revenue. As a leader, he experienced moments when turning down work felt risky and releasing underperformers felt uncomfortable. However, he soon realized that protecting the team’s integrity is more valuable than chasing growth without structure. Over time, clients began asking for more:

Can you cover our outage?
Can you supply trades for a short-duration utility project?
Can you manage the full scope?

Instead of remaining narrowly defined as a safety provider, BizSync intentionally expanded, embracing strong vetting, scalable systems, and operational clarity before aggressive scaling.

Thriving in a Daunting Industry

BizSync evolved from staffing into comprehensive workforce and project execution, stepping into highly complex scopes that demanded precision under pressure. Its unwavering commitment to excellence is exemplified by the projects it serves. One such example includes a recent high-rise conversion involving a specialized process completed only once before in North America. In this project, BizSync assumed control midstream, implemented recovery systems, and delivered the scope on schedule, within budget, and with zero injuries. Nixin believes execution and safety are inseparable factors in high-risk project environments.

Eliminating Frictions with Innovation

For Nixin, innovation has never been about trend adoption. It has been about eliminating operational friction. After consistently observing scheduling gaps, estimating inconsistencies, and communication breakdowns costing projects time and credibility, Nixin built VoxPlan, an internal scheduling and estimating platform developed directly from field experience. “It came from frustration. If the system does not support the people doing the work, it fails,” Nixin explains. Specifically designed for industrial and construction environments, VoxPlan integrates operations, budgeting, and deployment tracking in real time.

Instead of outsourcing the solution, Nixin built it firsthand to reflect real-world site conditions. VoxPlan now strengthens BizSync’s deployment speed, estimating precision, and internal accountability. It is one example of how innovation at BizSync remains operational rather than cosmetic.s

Embracing Opportunities

Canada faces generational workforce turnover, labour shortages, and increasing compliance demands, while infrastructure and industrial expansion continue to accelerate. Companies require partners who understand both field realities and organizational psychology. Nixin plans to approach these scopes as significant opportunities for BizSync’s growth.

Leveraging his eighteen years of experience in the oil and gas industry and a doctoral degree in business psychology, Nixin brings both dimensions to his leadership. His field credibility informs operational decisions, and academic research strengthens people strategy at BizSync. Together, they shape a leadership model grounded in clarity, accountability, and human performance.

Nixin views diversity as another opportunity to grow. At BizSync, diversity is structural and not symbolic. With the company, indigenous professionals, LGBTQIA2S+ workers, new Canadians, neurodivergent talent, and individuals are rebuilding their lives. Employees are hired based on their capability and character. At BizSync, the strongest performers are individuals who were overlooked elsewhere.

A Future Beyond Expansion

Looking ahead, the vision is not simply expansion for Nixin. It is sustainability and national recognition for standards, reliability, and inclusive workforce development. The best manifestation of BizSync in the coming years is a company known not just for scale, but for consistency. A place where people build careers, not temporary contracts. Behind the company’s growth, there was one constant: his mother, Daphne. “She believed in me when BizSync was still a risk without proof. When the numbers said wait. She said build it anyway,” shared Nixin. Today, the responsibility is greater. The stakes are higher. But the principle remains unchanged: build something real, protect the people who trust you, and never forget who stood beside you when it was all risk and no proof.

Word of Advice

For emerging entrepreneurs, Nixin offers direct advice:

  • Build your systems before you chase scale.
  • Learn to manage people, not just numbers.
  • Protect your standards.
  • Hire beyond your comfort zone.
  • And never get so removed from your operation that you cannot step onto the site and understand what your team faces.

Success, in Nixin’s view, is not a podium. It is a crew that would follow you anywhere, even into the next dumpster fire. Entrepreneur of the Year 2026 is not a finish line. It is a reflection of the work already done and the standards still to be upheld.

“Diversity is not a quota. It is giving opportunities most people never see.”
