Wireless communication has enabled businesses to reap the benefits of the digital economy. Before the discovery of wireless connectivity, data traveled through physical connections, making communications inefficient. Soon, the scenario changed with the introduction of wireless communication, which ruled out the need for wired communication. Since then, it has come a long way, evolving from 1G to 5G. However, the continuous evolution of technology in today’s digital economy has extended the scope of further development in wireless communication.
As information travels through the wireless spectrum, the efficient use of those spectrums is crucial to ensure they are effectively utilized for public benefit. Organizations’ reliance on manual spectrum analyzers instead of automated spectrum management reduced efficiency. Digital Global Systems Inc. (DGS) recognized this shortfall in spectrum management and embarked on a journey to simplify it with innovative solutions. As the future of wireless networks, DGS is transforming wireless communication across defense, transportation, utilities, public safety, and telecoms.
Having been honored as “The Most Innovative Companies to Watch 2025” by The CEO Views, DGS’s Chairman and CEO, Fernando Murias, engaged in a candid conversation with us to share the company’s journey towards success. Here is a glimpse at the interview of Fernando with The CEO Views team.
What was your inspiration behind the inception of the company? What was your mission at the outset?
The inception of DGS in 2013 was inspired by the realization that wireless spectrum management was lagging in terms of automation and efficiency. Organizations relied on manual spectrum analyzers requiring RF engineers to interpret data—a time-consuming and error-prone process. With the rapid growth of IoT and mobile technologies, we saw an opportunity to simplify spectrum management using AI and machine learning. Our mission was clear:
To transform how wireless networks are managed and optimized, enabling a smarter and more connected digital economy.
Please tell us about the company’s incredible journey and how it has evolved over the years.
