Story of Origin and Mission
CMC Telecom was established in 2008 with the mission to become a leading provider of an integrated and open information technology and telecommunications ecosystem for domestic and regional businesses. In established service industries, the five-star standard represents the highest quality of service. This standard has not yet been defined in the telecommunications and information technology industries. Over 15 years of development, CMC Telecom has always pursued the mission of providing 5-star services to bring the best experience to customers.
The Journey So Far
Over 15 years in the industry, CMC Telecom has had its own directions to make its mark in the fields the company is operating. As an internet service provider, in 2017, CMC Telecom put into operation the 2,500km Cross Vietnam Cable System backbone cable that connects directly to Southeast Asia’s land cable network – A Grid and directly connects to 05 international undersea optical cable routes AAE1, APG, A-Grid , Unity and Faster.
As the only telecommunications infrastructure enterprise in Vietnam with foreign shareholders, CMC Telecom has gradually invested in expanding the connection infrastructure network in all countries in the region and the world. In 2017, CMC developed CMC Cloud, continuously maintaining a compound growth rate of over 100% for 5 years, helping the company to hold the No. 1 position in cloud computing in Vietnam. In August 2022, CMC Telecom put into operation DC Tan Thuan, the most modern and secure data center in Vietnam and the Asia Pacific region.

Connectivity and Internet: CMC Telecom provides a superior customer experience by having a 24/7 operation team committed to monitoring, warning, and proactively handling problems for all clients, with a particular emphasis on reliable quality, bandwidth commitment, and advanced connection standards.
Data center: CMC Telecom currently owns an ecosystem including 3 data centers: CMC Tower (Hanoi), SHTP (HCMC) and especially DC Tan Thuan (HCMC). This is the only data center in Vietnam to date that complies with the Threat, Vulnerability and Risk Assessment security standards – the strict standards prescribed by the State Bank of Singapore for data centers in Singapore and widely used for reference and implementation by world-class data centers. At the same time, DC Tan Thuan of CMC Telecom is also the first and only data center in Vietnam that currently holds Uptime Tier III certification for both Design and Facility. CMC Telecom is also the first company in Vietnam to receive the PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) certificate, a payment security certificate dedicated to the financial and banking sector.
Cloud computing: CMC Telecom identifies the cloud as an important component of the digital transformation process. CMC Telecom has also developed its own cloud service called CMC Cloud. The solutions provided by CMC Cloud meet the digital transformation needs of tens of thousands of customers in different fields such as finance – banking, e-commerce, pro service, manufacturing, retail, logistics, education. As Advanced Tier Services Partner of AWS, Premier Partner of Google Cloud and Cloud Solutions Provider of Microsoft, CMC Telecom is also the first and only provider in Vietnam to provide Multi Cloud solutions. With careful preparation, right investment and timely service launch, CMC Telecom has been recognized and honored with noble titles, including National Brand of Vietnam 2022 for CMC Cloud; Top 10 Digital Infrastructure Solution Providers in Asia – Pacific Region 2022. In early April, CMC Telecom was the only Vietnamese representative who won two Asian Telecom Awards 2023 prizes: Cloud Initiative of the Year and Infrastructure Initiative of the Year.

Sustaining Challenges
The company was fortunate to have an early transformation when it realized that the market was very competitive and customer demand was dynamic. But it took them years to prepare for the change in operating strategy and business model. CMC Telecom dared to spend hundreds of billions for Cloud infrastructure and thousands of billions for Data Center in 2015, realizing that service convergence was an irreversible trend. Furthermore, there is the preparation of staff, from pure telecommunications workers to a team of competent technological personnel, with a big and constant number of personnel in the field of cloud computing and human resources operating massive systems.
Future vision
DCEO Dang Tung Son said: “In the past 3 years, the company has always had a compound growth rate of over 25% and currently has a revenue of about 3,000 billion VND, contributing 60% of the group’s profit. CMC Telecom will maintain 25-30% growth over the next 4-5 years and exceed the revenue benchmark of 8,000 billion. This is a challenge, but with the right strategy and a team of highly qualified and aspirational employees, we believe it is achievable.”
