Fullerton Building Systems

Speed and precision are paramount to the modern construction business. With technological advancements including automation redefining how construction materials are manufactured, delivered, and installed at construction sites, construction businesses look for solutions that could deliver materials with great speed, moving beyond traditional construction. A recent study by Mordor Intelligence reveals that the prefabricated buildings market in the United States was valued at $41.45 billion in 2025, and is estimated to grow from $44.21 billion in 2026 to $61.05 billion in 2031. Setting a strong foot in this rapidly growing prefabricated buildings market, Fullerton Building Systems has flourished as a prefabricated building shell manufacturer in the United States.

As a custom fabrication business, Fullerton is focused on streamlining construction projects, achieving the honor of one of the Top 5 Best Construction Solution Providers by The CEO Views. As we delightfully recognize the exemplary work of Fullerton Building Systems, CEO Mike Cousineau proudly shared with us the inspiration, innovation, and trends that influenced the company’s success.

The Inspiration Behind

The idea that inspired the creation of Fullerton Building Systems 60 years ago involves the key differentiator: speed to market. Time being the key metric of construction, allows the company to finish its projects 1-3 months earlier compared to traditional construction projects. With a mission of opening businesses 60 days faster than traditional construction, Fullerton drives efficiency into its climate-controlled construction processes.

A Value-Driven Construction Firm

Fullerton Building System is a custom prefabricated building shell manufacturer. As a reputable construction solution provider, it builds buildings, including any exterior finish within, the 130,000 square foot plant, in a climate-controlled environment, ships it to the desired location, and erects the building in one week. Mike proudly mentioned, “We guarantee schedules and no change orders.” Fullerton’s services center around the values of family first, transparency and candor, passion and humility, and laughing is required.

An Insight into Services

Fullerton’s three core services include design, build, and install. Working closely with the architect, general contractor, and other in-house staff, its in-house design, construction, project management, and plant production teams deliver premium prefabricated building shells. This efficient workforce of the company starts working early in the design phase, all the way through the installation, ensuring a reduction in building package costs, increased production rates, and improved speed to market.

Its experienced team of design professionals is committed to finding solutions to some of today’s biggest industrialized construction challenges. With structural drawings and a stamp of approval process, Fullerton manufactures a ready-to-assemble modular-like building package. Its manufacturing team takes pride in delivering building solutions that are built to last.

Obtaining Masonry Excellence

While speed to market is the primary endpoint for Fullerton’s customers, consolidation of trades is another core differentiator of the company from traditional construction. It handles all the masonry work and management for its customers. Fullerton never uses weather as an excuse for delaying projects, as all its masonry work is completed in a controlled environment plant. Through this streamlined process, the firm makes it easy for general contractors to work on-site, civil, or other construction locations.

Navigating Transformations

Construction schedules have shrunk for 90% of Fullerton’s customers. In Mike’s words, “this supports our model of speed to market, but it also forces us to constantly review and ultimately re-invent the way we design, manufacture, and install our products, to accommodate the need to get all aspects of our work done expeditiously.” For instance, the company has automated its in-plant design sheets utilizing mobile tablets as well as an automated QR code on every panel, which allows for retaining and reviewing 28 key data points associated with each manufactured panel.

Constructing Innovation

Fullerton has reconfigured how it wraps, stacks, and loads panels to optimize truck capacity. This not only reduces the number of trucks needed but also helps empower the company’s sustainability strategy, ultimately reducing costs for its customers. Alongside that, the firm has modified the unloading and moving of panels on site, allowing installation crews to minimize the distance between the next panel up.

Winning an Edge

Fullerton’s products are known for being top-notch. They undergo a stringent review for aesthetics, sustainability, precise design, smooth installations, and strict safety standards—not to mention always being on schedule. Even with this attention to detail, they maintain a competitive pricing model, due to capturing efficiencies throughout the process, from design to installation.

Strategic Positioning

While looking from a macro viewpoint, it can be seen that customers are seeking more strategic thinking from their partners when it comes to value engineering, quality assurance, and ways to reduce costs and time from a project. Conversely, from a micro viewpoint, customers are seen as becoming less tolerant with complacency and lack of accountability. Hence, the trend that will shape the future of construction solutions is ‘the bar of readiness and responsiveness being raised.’ Fullerton would love to see how that evolution will help it reach stars.

Empowering Aspirants

Mike believes that an entrepreneur is only as impactful as the entrepreneurial culture he/she surrounds themselves with. Every sector needs entrepreneurs to better the customer experience through product and service innovation. Fullerton Building Systems supports those who dare to invest in themselves and others. He mentions that to be smarter means to be creative, curious, skeptical, and bold.

“Our company started 60 years ago, and we strive to always ensure that our culture remains entrepreneurial, every day.”
— Mike Cousineau, CEO & Scott Pairolero, President
