In today’s interconnected world, the development and manufacturing of systems for digital data distribution are imperative. These systems form the backbone of our digital infrastructure, enabling seamless and efficient transfer of information across diverse platforms. Whether in entertainment, education, business, or healthcare, the necessity of these systems lies in their ability to ensure reliable, secure, and rapid dissemination of digital content. As our reliance on digital data grows, the development of robust distribution systems becomes a critical enabler for innovation, collaboration, and the smooth functioning of various sectors in our modern society.
If you are looking for a safe option for your digital data, we have the right choice for you, it’s none other than Rimage Corporation.
Rimage Corporation’s remarkable journey so far
For the last four decades, Rimage has been at the forefront of creating and producing cutting–edge systems for digital data distribution and archiving. The company’s roots can be traced back to 1978 when IXI Laboratories was established. At that time, IXI was focused on developing floppy diskette certifiers, which were used by diskette manufacturers to test every 8” floppy diskette before packaging. Due to the high failure rate of diskettes, IXI’s certifiers quickly became a sought–after product.
In 1995, Rimage stepped into the CD–R market as data storage requirements outgrew floppy diskettes. Unlike floppy diskettes, CD–R discs could only be written once but read multiple times. While floppy diskettes had paper stick–on labels, CD–R production lacked automated labeling. To solve this problem, Rimage launched PrismTM, the first–ever direct–to–disc thermal printer with “laser quality” printing. Even today, the Prism III remains the go–to disc printer in some of the busiest CD production facilities worldwide.
In 1997, Rimage introduced the Perfect Image Producer System, the first fully integrated automated CD–R publishing system that combined file transferring, recording, and thermal surface printing in one continuous uninterrupted flow.
In 2003, Rimage was the first to offer DVD–R support and the first to offer total flexibility by combining DVD–R and CD–R production in a single automated system. Now, all Rimage systems are available with support for CD–R, DVD–R, and Blu–ray DiscTM recording formats.
Today, Rimage is a global leader in offline, immutable, long–term data storage and preservation. They customize workflow–integrated data management hardware, software, and service solutions for data ingestion, transfer, preservation, and long–term archival. They serve government, medical, law enforcement, financial, and banking organizations with growing volumes of information that need to proactively manage storage resources and costs, as well as industries that are subject to data regulations.
We manufacture systems for businesses and organizations involved in education, medical, banking and finance, worship, business services, manufacturing, retail, digital media, and law enforcement.
Range of products offered
SOPHIA: Using advanced Al and powerful metadata capabilities, SOPHIA seamlessly automates data ingestion from any source and builds a global repository to organize and optimize digital assets in a streamlined and secure way. This technology integrates into all of the Rimage family of products supporting the Al–driven data management required to meet the everchanging data landscape.
Defense In Layers: Rimage Protection Shield (RPS): Rimage Protection Shield is a Cyber Security Solution that provides a point–in–time archive of a user–defined set of digital assets deemed critical to restore and recover from a cyberattack on a company’s infrastructure promptly.
Data Ingest: Rimage Data Solutions (RDS): Most organizations have more data than they know exists let alone an understanding of where it is and how to manage it relative to GRC and retention policies. Rimage Data Solutions enables organizations to gather and ingest their digital assets from various devices onto multiple storage platforms.
Data Preservation & Archiving: Rimage Data Preservation (RDP): Rimage’s data retention and preservation solution provides organizations with a data management approach that is age–resilient, reliable, cost–efficient, and secure. Implementing Rimage Data Preservation enables organizations to comply with regulatory demand and reduces the cost of preserving/maintaining data by over 70% with a high degree of certainty that the data will be available if it is ever needed. An open and custom API integration into back–office systems allows organizations to leverage industry products to offer operational solutions.
Data Archiving Solutions with Rimage Technology: Several third–party partners have built and sold solutions for data archiving. The solutions have a variety of input devices, output destinations, integrations, and interfaces.
For example, destinations can include hard drives, NAS, Cloud, Tape, and Blu–Ray.
Rimage Corporation- Setting itself apart from the rest
One of Rimage’s biggest differentiators in data preservation immutable optical technology – provides an unrivaled shelf life of up to 50 to 100 years, providing reliable storage for decades.
They combine this with their engineering, robotics, and software capabilities to deliver customized, bundled solutions that integrate into any workflow and are tailored to any customer’s requirements.
As Al and ML converge in parallel with Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR), Rimage can provide companies with a data baseline. By leveraging their technology stack, they can provide businesses with an encrypted, immutable point–in–time data reference point, which serves as a checkpoint for changes in recorded data.
Organizational culture and how it influences work dynamics
Rimage considers itself a well–established startup that is constantly seeking innovative approaches to manage, protect, and securely erase data to cater to the requirements of its customers. By collaborating with partners, they offer top–notch techniques for data disposal, ensuring that once the deletion process is complete, the data remains unrecoverable.
Additionally, the company is focused on enhancing product density for archiving and preservation purposes. They have some exciting surprises in store, as their research and development teams are developing solutions that not only utilize AI, ML, AR, and VR but can also be integrated into the framework for tracking and validating data at specific points in time.
