Alina Habba

An American lawyer and managing partner of Habba, Madaio, & Associates, Alina Habba has also served as the legal spokesperson of Donald Trump, US President. Born on 25th March 1984, Alina’s professional experience initially spans the fashion industry and later the legal world. Find out about Alina’s professional expertise and her journey toward becoming Trump’s hush-money defense attorney.

A Glance into Alina Habba’s Professional Life

After graduating from Lehigh University in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in political science, Alina started her professional journey with the fashion industry. She worked at Marc Jacobs as a production and marketing executive from 2005 to 2007. Despite her contentment working in the fashion sector, she decided to pursue further education in law school. In 2010, Alina Habba acquired a Juris Doctor degree from the Widener University Commonwealth Law School, marking the beginning of her long career in the law sector.

Alina had her first experience working in the legal landscape with Eugene J. Codey Junior, the President Judge of the Civil Superior Court in New Jersey, serving as his law clerk until 2011. Soon, she started working as an associate at Tompkins, McGuire, Wachenfeld & Barry, LLP law firm till 2013. Later, she held the position of equity and managing partner at Sandelands Eyet LLP, a law firm founded by her first husband, Matthew Eyet.

Alina took a leap of faith with a dream of starting her own law firm, Habba, Madaio, and Associates LLP, in 2020. As a private practitioner, she led the counsel for a federal case against a New Jersey nursing home involved in several negligent acts and consumer fraud, along with two more cases. Alina Habba contributed to the law and order of the US with her legal expertise in assisting clients facing various legal issues. Her legal career took a turn when she started serving as Trump’s attorney in 2021, making her way to the political domain to a certain extent.

As Trump’s Attorney

As Trump’s lawyer, Alina Habba has showcased impeccable performance, making her one of the most high-profile attorneys in Trump’s legal team. Alina joined Trump’s legal clan in 2021, replacing many of his lawyers. She landed her first case as Trump’s attorney, filing a lawsuit of $100 million against The New York Times reporter and Trump’s niece, Mary L. Trump, although it got dismissed.

Alina Habba fought for Trump, helping him regain his reputation against a case of unconsented kissing and groping filed by Summer Zervos, a contestant on Trump’s reality show, The Apprentice, in 2017. Later, in 2021, Habba’s countersuit compelled her to withdraw the lawsuit against Trump.

Since 2022, Alina Habba represented Trump in various federal civil lawsuits, accelerating the upward movement of her career graph as Trump’s Attorney. Despite her expertise in legal proceedings, Alina was criticized several times for some of her unsuccessful legal cases fought in favor of Trump. In 2024, Alina worked on the E. Jean Carroll v. Donal Trump trial as the leading attorney, helping Trump in getting $83.3 million from Carroll for defaming him. These cases are a testament to Alina Habba’s excellence and success as Trump’s attorney.

Trump Picks Alina Habba as the Hush-Money Defense Attorney

The next big thing after Donald Trump was elected as the President of the US in 2024 was the New York hush-money case. The hush-money case involves Trump being accused of falsifying payments to pornographic film actress Stormy Daniels to restrict her from spilling the beans regarding a sexual encounter between the two. With Trump’s judge postponing the ruling on presidential immunity grounds, Alina Habba has recently been appointed by Trump as the counselor for the case. Her unwavering loyalty and dedication as a lawyer made Trump rely on her potential to win the case.

Alina Habba had a controversial legal career, which is popularized not only for her excellence as a lawyer but also for her failures in the journey. Her recent selection as the counselor to the President for the hush-money case had brought her into the spotlight.
